Dear diary J

We arrived in Bucharest today at. 23.50, after a long trip with a 3-hour trains and 4 hour flight. In the airport we meet a sweet and friendly lady named Diana, she had a student with her named Niki. They did really well against us and drove us home to the place where we would live. Along the way there were a lot of things about the sights we passed, and Diana told us shortly about the next two weeks should be. We arrived at the apartment we would live in. In the doorway stood an older sweet lady and welcomed us by name Sabina, it was her apartment we would be in. Her apartment is one bedroom with living room, kitchen, two bathrooms and two small rooms. We got one room allocated where there was a TV and a lot of chairs. We got an introduction into how the keys work, it was in Romanian, where Diana translated into English for us. The reason it was in Romanian is that Sabina can not talk any English. After that Diana leaved and we packed up slowly and get straight into bed. The clock was almost 02:00 pm.

Dear diary J

We stood up today at. 09.30 and went to the bathroom and then ate the prepared breakfast, which consisted of  cold tea, cold eggs and cold toast, it was okay but not exactly appetizing. We walked toward the subway, where we would meet up with Diana at. 10.30, but before we went with the subway, elevated Nanna money and I exchanged a few Euros. We took the subway to the school, „Carol Davila”, which was in a more dilapidated part of Bucharest. But this wasn’t shown at the school, the school was really great, both outside and inside. At school we had a really nice reception from everyone we met. We talked first with the inspector who commanded us welcome and wished us good luck. After this we met some other teacher, and one of them was Nicoleta, it’s was her class we had to follow for an hour today and later provide to.  She was an anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and microbiology teacher, and really good at English. We were shown down to a classroom, while also functioning as a training room, comparable to our  nursing laboratory, only much smaller! A nursing teacher came down and told us about what they teach, when they are using the exercise room. She could only speak Romanian, so Nicoleta translated for us. After that we followed Nicoleta teaching half hour. She was teaching about the bacteria flue. We didn’t understand anything since  teaching was conducted in Romanian, but she was so kind that she  actually translated for us every time they had a discussion / conversation about a virus. Diana picked us up at. 12.30 where we were provided with uniforms for tomorrow. Now we had to hurry to walk to the subway, because we had to reach the parliament at. 14.00, where Diana had booked us on a English tour. The tour was really good and it was fascinating to see the parliament. After the tour Diana fetched us and we went on a really  delicious restaurant where we got something good to eat and drink. Then we took the subway home, and here ended our day at 17.30. Tt had also been a really long but good day.

Today we had to meet with Miki and Mary at. 09.30 with a subway station on Rumanía square, we got a little late and could not find the others, we got a little panic. But Mary came after 5 minutes. And soon after came Miki also on her way. We got on a bus that would take us out to Elias Hospital. Here we met with approx. 20 students who also had an internship at the hospital together. We were shown down and clothed on, and then we were spread around the hospital. We got a tour of the entire hospital together with Miki and Mary. It was not exactly what we had expected when Diana had told us that we should be in a ward with children and follow a nurse there. Then Nanna asked if it was possible it could. The nurse told as, it could not, because they don’t have so much to show us today. While we went with Maria, we asked how their rules would appear in terms of nails, hair, clothes, miscellaneous jewelry, school and internship, as we had observed that many of the girls had long nails, nail polish on, various Jewelry and un anxious hair. Maria told us that they have the same rules as we are based in Dk, but here they don’t respect it, and doing more what suits them. We were stunned to hear this, we talked about, is not esay to be a good nurse if you always don’t care about the rules. Not only did the students do not follow these rules, but we actually Nurses rings, long nails, nail polish and un anxious hair of care. At 12.30, we were free, and we went back to Romana square. Here we bought us each a pair of cool sunglasses and took  In a pizzahouse, where we had pizza and a delicious dessert. The rest of the day went to relax.

Dear dairy  J

Today we met with Maria and Miki in a new hospital. We were presented to the department’s nurse, who spoke very good English. She showed us own to a room where we had to dress on, and then we went up on the operating time. They told little about what the hospital gives to operations, and showed us the sterile rooms, etc. The rest of the day went as we came in 3 operations. The first was a man who should have removed one kidney, the next was a lady who had problems with digestion and the third was a lady who for 8 years ago had suffered an accident in which she broke her jaw, and then she put it together with no wire, which was now gone infection, so it should be removed and instead put the jaw together with a screw It was a very educational and exciting day. Something we wondered over  was that the hole day the operations people’s phones rang constantly in the operating room and people just took it and chatted as they wanted, even private conversations. We asked if it could be true that they had to do this and we got in reply that there is no law that says they cannot do it, and it was the reason for using their telephone at work. We got free at. 13.30, and the rest of the day was to prepare our presentation for Thursday morning the Romanian students.

Dear diary J

Today Sabina woke us up, and told us we should be at euro clinic. 9 o clock. Here we met Maria. We went up to second floor where we should have new clothing because we should see an operation to day. The clothes were XXL or XXXL, so they were pulled well up on the stomach. We got to see an operation where they had to repair a muscle that was broken. It all took place as a keyhole surgery, it was really exciting to follow it on the TV screen, and the doctors were so sweet that they told us what was happening. Then we went to a plastic surgery, we believe there should be aliposuction. Unfortunately, we never saw the operation, since we were told to go out again after, three quarters later because the doctor think it was too crowded. So we just sow all preparations for surgery. Unfortunately, there was nothing more to see then, and the time was only 11.00, so we were quite disappointed with today’s field. Especially because we been promised that we could see a have to see a birth. But a nurse told us they don’t have anything to show us, and we went therefore in a park with Maria, where we were on site.15.00, and then we went home. When we got home we practiced our presentation for tomorrow as we are nervous for.
